I’m a husband and a father. I make things and tell stories. I do this by serving on the creative team at Church of the Highlands. I’m also a commercial and music video producer. I’ve done a few movies as well, some of which are really bad.
Stories are powerful though. They offer fresh perspective. They introduce us to new ways of thinking. To new worlds and new characters. The best stories are ones we identify with. They are human stories. We resonate with them when we see ourselves in them. My prayer is that will happen here.
But, why another blog? I asked the same thing for a long time. For me, the answer came in a quote I found:
“Everything that needs to be said has already been said. But, since no one was listening, everything must be said again.”
André Gide
My hope is to encourage, inspire, challenge, and help others live the best version of themselves in this wild endeavor called life.
Mostly, I write about things that align with my personal values. I take inventory of these every week and strive to live them out each day. They are:
- Prayer and Faith
- Family and Friends
- Leadership and Service
- Adventure and Exploration
- Laughter and Joy
- Curiosity
- Generosity of Time and Resources
If you want to get know me a bit more, check out my Top 100 Annual Review. It’s a pretty good snapshot.
Not sure where to start? Hit up my favorites. I also have a digital commonplace book at danislinus.com. This is where I collect all kinds of interesting (at least to me) stuff that inspires and awes me.
Hit me up on Twitter. I’d love to hear from you. I’m also on the Instagram.
